The regular boat tour on the Ljubljanica lasts 50 minutes. We start at the portion of the river embankment called Breg and start sailing south, against the river flow. Soon we reach the Saint Jakob’s (Saint James’ the Great) bridge and than the cast-iron bridge called Hradecki. We continue past the confluence of tributary Gradaščica and river Ljubljanica. We can admire nicely managed shorelines of Trnovski pristan right after that. At Špica, where people used to swim in the river and sunbathe on the shore, we turn right. On the left we see the man-made channel build in 18th Century, called Gruber channel, and the city harbour for the river boats. After passing the rowing club on the right and the kayak and canoe club on the left, we reach Livada, a beautiful spot for a restaurant. Short distance ahead, just past the bridge on which Hladnikova road leads, we turn around. Now we are heading back to the city centre. On our way we can admire Ljubljana castle, parts of the city called Prule and Trnovo, parts of the city called Old Square, City Square and New Square with many charming baroque buildings, Cobbler’s bridge, St. Mary Annunciation church or Franciscan church, The Triple Bridge, Marketplace, The Butcher’s Bridge, The Dragon’s bridge and The Grain bridge. At the Ljubljanica Sluice Gate designed by Jože Plečnik and built in time of the 2nd World War, we turn again and return to Breg. 

Our boat tours in December are focused mainly to exquisitely decorated and illuminated part of the city, between the confluence of tributary Gradaščica and river Ljubljanica on one side and the Dragon’s bridge on the other side. The duration of our afternoon and evening boat tours in that special time of year is 25 minutes, in 30-minute intervals. Our guests can enjoy a cup of mulled wine or a cup of hot tea (both sold separately) while on-board our boat Ljubljanica. Your are more than welcome to join!
